Meet this weeks Herb of the Week. He is none other than former Onondaga County Family Court Judge Bryan R. Hedges. So why is this 66 year old ex-Judge a herb? Hold on to your pants because this is going to be a dozy!

In 1972 he supposedly raped his 5 year old deaf niece. Yes, 5 year old deaf niece. This is indeed just disgusting! But this is just the top of the iceberg as this man is probably the worst HOTW we’ve ever had!

On this past Tuesday a lawyer for the former Judge told the state’s highest court that Hedges is not unlike Pope Benedict XVI.

Wait, what!?

So Hedges, a judge from 1985 to 2012 and a former prosecutor, was recorded admitting he committed an “abhorrent” and “very, very, very bad” act in 1972 while staying at his mother-in-law’s house in Albany, according to court papers.

Glad he thinks ruining a little girls life is “very, very, very bad.”

The alleged victim, Ellen Cantwell Warner, 45, has publicly asked to be identified after coming forward with the allegations.

Which I suppose is good because I would privately asked not to be identified.

Hedges’ lawyer said the incident should not have led to the judge’s ouster from the bench.

Obviously! Because raping a little girl isn’t a bad thing right?

“Distant acts in the mists of time, I think, are overcome by a life well led,” the lawyer, Robert Julian, told the high court. “This is perhaps a poor analogy — and if it offends anyone I apologize — but Pope Benedict had been a member of the Hitler Youth Corps, at least some of history says. I don’t think anyone would argue that in the period of time going forward his was a life well led.”

Asked about the papal comparison after the arguments, Julian told reporters: “I have great respect for Pope Benedict. I have great respect for my client. Pope Benedict was apparently a member of the Hitler Youth, not an exemplary organization, and he went on to lead an exemplary life.”

Pope Benedict XVI recently resigned for health reasons and was succeeded by Pope Francis, who was installed Tuesday. As a 14-year-old in Germany, the former pope, Joseph Ratzinger, was required to join the Hitler Youth against his will, according to Times Union archives. He was dismissed because of his intention to become a priest.

Seriously? These two things are similar how? I don’t see any similarity at all. Someone being forced to join a evil group versus a guy raping a girl is not the same. No matter how hard you try to make them seem similar they’ll never be.

He admitted that way back on that day in 1972, while touching himself sexually, the girl entered the room and touched his hand as he was pleasuring himself, court papers show.

At the time of the incident, Hedges was a law student at Syracuse University College of Law.

Way to blame everything on Bernie Fine.

“I believe now that Ellen probably was watching, and this next part is indefensible, you know, I mean, it was totally wrong,” Hedges said on the recording, according to court papers. “At some point, Ellen came in or I was aware of her and I didn’t stop and cover up, I just kept going … this whole thing was maybe, it was less than a minute.”

Hedges, who faces no criminal charges, does not concede he intentionally victimized the girl. Julian contends the former judge thought it was his wife entering the room — and he ceased when he realized it was the child.

Because a 5 year old little girl and a woman mature enough to be a wife are one in the same. Same height and everything like that. Yeah, right sicko!

The judge resigned from the bench on the day that he was served with a complaint from the Commission on Judicial Conduct.

The panel later voted 7-2 to remove him for an act of moral turpitude and found he was unfit to hold office; the dissenters found removal served no purpose after his resignation.

Associate Judge Eugene Pigott suggested the removal was extraneous because Hedges was off the bench.

He questioned whether the commission would have tried to remove a sitting judge who, say, had run a rolling craps game in college.

Robert Tembeckjian, representing the Commission on Judicial Conduct, said the nature of Hedges’ incident stands out.

“It is rare and it would require exceptional circumstances to remove a judge for conduct that took place long before he or she took the bench,” he told the court. “This is that exception.”

Julian argued that the incident was a private act long before Hedges became a judge.

And if Hedges killed someone before he became a Judge and no one ever found out and he buried the body or bodies and all of that and no one found out this would just be unfair if they tried to remove him from being a judge “for conduct that took place long before he or she took the bench”

Yes, this would be completely unfair if say for 40 years of your life you’ve been tormented by a event that happened when you were a 5 year old.

This whole case seems odd and disgusting. And I really think this guy is a pervert.

Especially look at this picture!
