In continuing this 20 Days Of Chill Writing Challenge, I have been participating and it’s now time for a new post. As you may remember two weeks ago I started this challenge and have now completed 10 days worth of the challenge and you can read them both by checking out 20 Days Of Chill.
Today is a new day and a new challenge and today’s theme is:
The best stadium food you ever ate
It’s been a few years since I’ve actually ate stadium food. Outside of a couple weeks ago eating food at a wrestling show, but I don’t think that should qualify for this.
So what really is the best stadium food I ever ate? Well, it’s actually food I bought outside of a stadium. And that was a few years ago when Lindsay and I visited a bunch of stadiums.
It was 2009, and we were just starting our tenure into our relationship. We ended up going to four different stadiums that summer. We went to the new Yankee Stadium, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Nationals Park and Citi Field where the New York Mets play.
While I don’t remember what we ate, if we even did, at Citi Field or at Nationals Park. I do remember the other two means.
We were traveling to Virginia to visit her family and we decided to stop and watch baseball. So we found a game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, they were playing the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and well, we got stopped while walking in to the stadium. A guy selling hamburgers was pushing us to purchase some. He convinced us to buy them because he said we could bring them in and they wouldn’t mind.
Remember this was 2009, they were a terrible team. They finished the season with 64 wins. So they probably didn’t really care as long as people were actually coming to the games.
The hamburgers were good there. But then again that’s not stadium food.
Before the actual season had begun, we attended a game at the new Yankee Stadium. It was the second ever game and they were to play the Chicago Cubs. Yes, I’m a Cubs fan and used to be a Yankee fan. So obviously I was really excited to be here.
We thought hey, let’s get something to eat here. But then that’s where things went bad.
As you can see it’s really not that good looking. The taste was anything but good.
It was a double cheeseburger and it looked like it was made a good week before the game occurred. It gave me a very uneasy feeling, not because of possible food poisoning but because this is a brand new stadium, yet, they’re using the food from the old place.
Ss for best stadium food, I know this doesn’t qualify either. And I can’t really think of any good stadium food I’ve had. Mainly because I was always brought up to not have food from a stadium. Because A, it sucks. And B it’s expensive.
So there’s that.
