In a way to connect better with this Photo Blog Challenge presented by A ‘lil Hoohaa that I have joined and it being nearing 3 years in action, I will retroactively join it. So with the power of Google Photos a.k.a. my cloud I will go through my past pictures and play along with the past themes. It might be cheating a little bit, but hey, this is Hachland and not whatever your name is land!

Are you ready for the challenge!? Well, I am and we will go all the way back to October 2015 in which the theme was Closeup!

1. Mushroom

Getting our FitBit steps up at the LaVern E. Irving Trail which is just along the Hannacroix Creek in Greene County. There’s a old mill located on this trail and well, these cool mushrooms. Over the summer and fall during many of my adventures outside I visited different walking trails and took a bunch of pictures of mushrooms just like this.

2. Is It A Slide?

For fun and to continue the previous theme of walking, I visited Schenectady’s Central Park and walked around, taking pictures of course. I came along their playground and started noticing a bunch of the same instruments of destruction that I remembered growing up on. A park that I have visited in well, quite a long time. This thing right here, I still don’t know what it actually is, but I remember you’d try and climb up the sides of it and then slide down. To your ultimate death of course.

3. Anchors Away20151024_160304

This is an anchor. It’s located in Athens, New York. Why was I in Athens? I don’t really remember other than trying to find places to take pictures, explore and get my FitBit steps up. Years ago, the Steven Spielberg version of War Of The Worlds did some filming here and my mother was a teacher on set for the younger stars.

4. Abyss20151030_202655

This is Abyss. He’s a professional wrestler, as the reasoning he’s in a wrestling ring. I traveled to a wrestling show in Whitehall, New York for a company called World Of Hurt Wrestling. Superstars such as Donovan Dijak, Jeff Starr, Shane Alden, Vince Beach, Travis Gordon and of course Abyss who made a surprise appearance.

5. Flower Power

Back in Schenectady near their Central Park is their Rose Garden, and this is one of the flowers from that rose garden. For taking pictures on my Samsung Galaxy S3, I think this came out pretty well. From what I’m told girls like flowers, but honestly, I like the flowers too sometimes, especially when they come out looking this good on my camera phone.
