It’s been a couple years since I put a car decal on my car. It seems a little strange for a grown man who has no children to have a car decal that has a little girl holding balloons. But there’s a big reason for this.

In December 2013, I purchased a new car. It was a 2013 Kia Sportage, it’s gray, as you may be able to tell in the picture above. It’s the first car I ever bought that wasn’t used, and I’m pretty proud of that.

As I was able to tell my dad, my brother and a lot of my other extended family there’s one person who would have also been proud of me that I wasn’t able to tell. That being my mother.

My mother passed away in 2009, before I got this car. But I wanted something, anything that could keep her by my side. Something that I could tell others that my mother is and will forever be by my side.

So I got a car decal.

Yeah, I guess it’s only for this car. But it’s something that reminds me of her.

As a girl with balloons.

It’s based on the fact that we used to visit the Great Wellsville Balloon Rally once a year. We always enjoyed balloons together. And well, it’s just perfect.

I might one day go ahead and get a tattoo in honor of her or something else. But I figured this would be good. She can be by my side and see where ever I go.
