This past Friday I attended the Saratoga Balloon and Craft Festival held at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds. They hold four launches in which over 20 hot air balloons participate in.
For those who are familiar with me, you know that for nearly 30 years of my life I attended such an event annually as my family would gather together in a small town in Wellsville, New York. So this event is nothing new to me.
Although over the past few years I have unable to attend that such event, I’ve attempted on numerous times to attend a balloon festival. Again. Unable to.
But this weekend, such as this past Friday night everything came together just perfectly. Not to give away future posts, but let’s just say I was able to attend and witness three balloon launches this weekend.
So please look for future posts on this and as for this Friday’s launch it was well, quite awesome.
For the first time using my new Canon Rebel T5 camera at a balloon rally, for years previous I used various other cameras. Nothing as high powered or as great as this. From random 35mm cameras, to late model digital cameras, flip phones, camera phones. Various other cameras that captured the balloons, but nothing like I was able to capture this past weekend.
With learning more and more about my camera, plus having nearly three decades of experience of balloon festivals and taking pictures of them. This well, this was simply fun.
