Earlier today while driving on the back roads on Route 30 in Schoharie County we stopped at the Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center where the Pumped Storage Power Station is located. It’s in the same area as the Lansing Manor House built by John Lansing, Jr. for his daughter and son-in-law, Jacob Livingston Sutherland in 1819.
The pumped-storage hydroelectricity plant is part of the New York Power Authority which gathers electricity to be sent to New York City. Using the existing reservoirs and the Schoharie Creek along with some big turbines helps to generate some of the power to help one of the biggest cities in the world survive.
There is some areas around to take photos of the mountains, and water, and all the interesting stuff involving the Power Plant and the Lansing Manor House. But I just took a picture of the American Flag along with the New York State flag.
